The Shakespeare Centre Library & Archive welcomes enquiries from those who cannot visit in person. Enquiries are dealt with in order of receipt and may be made by email, telephone, letter or fax. See Contact Details.

We aim to respond to enquiries within five working days.

The amount of time spent on an enquiry is left to the discretion of staff. We ask that initial enquiries are made as specific as possible. If your enquiry involves detailed searches beyond what might reasonably be expected we may charge a search fee:

• £15 (inc. VAT) per hour for private researchers
• £30 (inc. VAT) per hour for commercial enquiries
• £10 minimum charge

and will advise you accordingly.

Touchstone is an essential research tool for Shakespeare research in the United Kingdom (a collaborative venture between the Shakespeare Institute, The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, and Birmingham Library Services)
