The Shakespeare Centre Library collects printed books, manuscripts of a literary nature, literary and theatrical ephemera relating to:

• Shakespeare's life
• Shakespeare's works
• their sources and analogues
• the performance of his plays from his time to the present throughout the world, especially by the Royal Shakespeare Company and its predecessors in Stratford-upon-Avon
• the impact of Shakespeare throughout the world, including translations and criticism of his work and works based on Shakespeare's plays and poems
• the history of theatre and drama
• the cultural background of Shakespeare's times

We welcome material, by gift, permanent loan or bequest, relevant to our collections.
