As well as Shakespeare material of international importance, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Local Collections hold many thousands of documents, photographs, maps and books relating to Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area. Anyone studying local history in Warwickshire and neighbouring parts of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, or tracing a family who lived there, is almost bound to find something of interest.

From the beginning of February 2009 the Library and Archive will be closed on Wednesdays  for a six month period to enable us to undertake a number of projects and the deal with a back-log of cataloguing, which will enable us to improve our service.   During this period there will be no late night opening.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
