The Library and Records Office have amalgamated to form the Shakespeare Centre Library and Archive, housing the Shakespeare and Local Collections, and have moved into a newly refurbished reading room.

• the combined printed book collections of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
• the archive of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The Local Collections consist of:

• many thousands of archival records, books, photographs and maps relating to Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area.
• historical documents concerning Shakespeare and his family
