Autumn demonstrations Families icon

Please find below a list of the demonstrations you can expect to see at Mary Arden's Farm during the autumn. Each activity lasts between 20 and 30 minutes, and begin at approximately 11.00am and 2.30pm daily.
Mondaypicking apples in the autumn
- The men take part in threshing
- For the women it is wash-day on the first Monday of the month , then every 3rd Monday
Tuesday
- On Tuesday the men do winnowing
- And the women distill herbal medicines
Wednesday
- The men broadcast rye on autumn Wednesdays
- The women preserve fruit
Thursday
- On Thursdays the men are pig-keeping
- The women are cheese-making
- Join in with stone picking and bird-scaring!!
Friday
- On autumn Friday the men are building hovels for pigs and peas
- The women make perfume waters and oils, and soap
Saturday
- On autumn Saturdays the men sharpen scythes and take part in haystack-making
- The women are butter-making
Sunday
- As in spring and summer the men practice archery on Sundays
