Assistant Gardens Manager

The Trust is looking for an Assistant Gardens Manager to support the management and maintenance of the gardens at the five Shakespeare Family Homes throughout Stratford-upon-Avon, which educate and inspire up to 850,000 visitors per year in their interest in Shakespeare and Tudor life.

Reporting to the Gardens Manager, your role would be to ensure that the gardens are ready for opening, that appropriate tasks are carried out, that the Gardens Team communicate well with visitors about the gardens, and lead employees and volunteers to complete their tasks.

This is a hands-on role and to be successful you will be a knowledgeable Gardener with experience of supervising teams, professionally qualified to HND level or equivalent, have excellent knowledge of plant species and horticultural methods and practices, excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to work and be a good team player.
