Volunteering 2013
Last year over 400 enthusiastic volunteers gave 29,000 hours of their time to help the Trust with a variety of tasks, including living history, room hosting, archaeology, gardening and caring for collections. Volunteers came from all backgrounds, age groups and locations, some even travelling from Europe to take part. This year we are looking for even more volunteers to join our friendly team.
Our recent Volunteer Survey showed that of those who took part:
- 94% would recommend volunteering with the Trust to others
- 97% rated their experience to date either very enjoyable or enjoyable
So why not register today?

Gaynor’s story of Tudor life at Mary Arden’s Farm
I love history and in 2010 I jumped at the opportunity to be part of the living history team at Mary Arden’s Farm. Mary Arden’s is a living Tudor farm and that is exactly what I have found. I’ve learnt so many skills, from Tudor cookery to animal husbandry. Everything that’s produced on the farm goes into the house and kitchen; visitors get the full flavour of Tudor life here.
